Disability Adaptations

I know what you are thinking!  But yes you are correct, we do offer our products as Disability Aids for the Disabled.  Being a disabled person myself I have seen many disabled people struggle with those small electric scooters, these are vehicles that are suppose to give you your independence but unfortunately they are stigmatised in that each and everyone of these scooters are related to "The Disabled", a label that we all don't like to have and try to avoid it like the plague.

So, armed with this knowledge I attended my local Prosthetic clinic for a routine appointment and, whilst waiting to be seen by my technician, I got chatting to a gentleman, who we shall refer to as "Peter", about transportation, independence etc etc, he told me about the problems that he was having with his scooter and that he was getting increasingly frustrated and because of it he started to become aggrophobic, he then went on to say that he was talking with his Nephew and he told Peter that he should invest in a Quad Bike, a more powerful vehicle, sturdy and rigid but most importantly these vehicles would not be tarred with the same stigmatic brush in that they would not be labelled as being a vehicle for "The Disabled".

With took Peter to our showroom and were able to provide him with a suitable vehicle, in this case a Road Legal Buggy.  Comfortability was first and foremost in choosing the right vehicle for Peter along with the ability to operate it, we had to make some changes to assist Peter to operate the controls, in this instance Peter was finding it extremely difficult to operate the brake pedal using his right foot but he was able to operate a brake pedal using his left foot, so with a few modifications we applied a single brake pedal that, when depressed, applied the brakes to both front and rear wheels.

I know what it is like not to have any independence especially if you have been given a disability scooter that is becoming or is unreliable, you tend not to venture out for the fear of your current scooter from working so why not take a leaf out of Peters' book and invest in either a Quad Bike and or Road Legal Scooter and if you require adaptations we will be able to offer that service for you, there is nothing to it, you come in pick a suitable vehicle with our assistance, make any alterations and or adaptations and you can drive it away within a couple of days its that simple.  If you want to find out more or would like to ask us a question then please click on the appropriate link on our website where we will be more than happy to assist.
